Urine therapy..!?

I was lounging at ehow.com and  happened to come across an article about ‘remedies for skin discoloration’. One of the remedy they recommend is none other than urine! Was really surprised to read it.

They say, that urine can balance out the skin quickly, and can fade skin discolorations rapidly. And, we are supposed to use first urine sample taken in the morning, as it is the most concentrated and most effective.

Here’s the extract from the article about the directions for use-

“Soak a cotton pad in urine, then apply it to the skin discoloration. You can lay the pad onto the skin, leaving it there for up to 15 minutes, or use the urine as a toner. Repeat this up to three times per day to remove skin discolorations.”

You can find the article here: http://www.ehow.com/way_5255279_remedies-skin-discoloration.html

As much as I know, urine is a skin irritant. Urine in the bladder is sterile indeed. But it becomes contaminated on its passage out, by the normal flora present in lower urethra, skin around urethral orifice and external genitalia. So by the time we collect urine sample, it already contains bacteria. Therefore, I’m not sure about this sterile urine thing.

Anyways, if anyone ever try this urine therapy for your skin, please let me know about the results..:)
