Today is the big day..The most anticipated final match of Cricket world cup 2011 – India Vs Sri Lanka. Its the first WC final with all Asian teams.
I'm on SL’s side today. they’ve made it to the finals 2 times in a row. But as Sanga already said- Its the cup that matters..!
Eagerly waiting to see who claims the cup. Meanwhile, here’s a quick view on the WC final and the hype surrounding it.
Indian medias always make such a big hype about cricket. And the Indians are never allowed to forget that they must win the cup, at least for the master blaster Sachin. *I always enjoy the little master’s class act batting , regardless of which side I'm on. Its such a treat to watch him smash the balls.*
Some attention seeking dimwit model named Poonam 
Pandey even promises to bare it all for India.She pictures it as a heroic sacrifice, and says she is a new generation girl who’d do anything to bring the WC home..*So girls, if you are from the new generation, you should all get naked* :P.
*Honestly, I don’t know how this could help India win. *
Besides, she has already shown 99% of her skin on kingfisher calendars. So after all its just 1% that’s left to sacrifice..:P
Indian cricket fans are always at one extreme or the other. They worship the players as idols if they win. But if India loses a match its a totally different story - They take it too personally and go and smash down and burn anything that has got the player’s name on.I don't know whether this much hype is good or bad for the team. It could work either way.
Sri Lankan cricket is quite different. Here the fans are as much passionate about cricket as Indians but they are very much balanced. At least nobody here bares it all for cricket victory :) Cricketers are hailed as heroes, but not as Gods. Cricket is our passion, but not our life.
If SL wins, they celebrate with as much vigor as any other nation, and they accept the defeats without much fuss.. The players are criticized if they fail to perform well. But surely they won’t be sentenced to death. :) Whether its a good thing or not, I don’t know .:P
So, Who will be the champions today? Dark blue or Light blue ? :)

Finally the light blue won..Indians have finally got their wish. Word champions 2011.
Sri Lankans tried..But the better team won. Well done India..!
Sachin got his farewell gift..He finally got to hold the WC..Looks like he'll never put that down..:)

Oh yes, India played really well against SL. :) As you say, the better team won.
lol, no sanu, Apparently she wants to do it 'legally'. So says, she's waiting for BCCI approval :)
